Parramatta Aquatic Centre
Parramatta Aquatic Centre AL-TEN gabion walls
In the ever-evolving landscape of architectural design a collaboration between Andrew Burges Architects, Grimshaw Architects and McGregor Coxall in the form of the Aquatic Learning Centre of Parramatta featuring our very own AL-TEN gabion product as part of their design.
This architectural endeavor, situated in Parramatta's Mays Hill Precinct, is no ordinary aquatic center. Designed to be a multifaceted community hub, it boasts a range of impressive amenities, from a 50-meter, 10-lane outdoor pool to indoor recreational pools, water playgrounds, fitness centers, and more. What sets this project apart is its innovative approach to integrating architecture with the environment and ensuring durability in the face of a corrosive pool hall atmosphere.
AL-TEN, our premium product in the world of gabions, plays a pivotal role in the success of this architectural creation. The architects have chosen to utilise AL-TEN's resilient and corrosion-resistant properties, both internally and externally, to create a visually striking, durable, and long-lasting structure.
The external application of AL-TEN is reminiscent of its successful use as cladding in projects like the TramSheds at Harold Park and Ballast Point Park. In the case of the Aquatic Learning Centre, this product formed an integral part of the design, delivering both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity.
AL-TEN has a unique blend of strength, durability and corrosion resistance. The Parramatta project showcases just one of the many ways our AL-TEN product can elevate architectural designs to new heights, ensuring longevity and visual appeal.
